WHAT HAS SHE DONE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN MTSD?
Advocated for and collaborated with administration in 2015 to create Summer Academy run through our Recreation Department to offer academic enrichment throughout the summer so as to maintain and extend learning opportunities, voting to approve its commencement
Started Lake Shore’s Back to School picnic/carnival
Started Lake Shore’s after school activities – dances, basketball competitions, games to increase student engagement with each other and staff
Revived PALS (Parent Assisted Learning for Students) at Lake Shore, teacher-directed tutoring to support student learning
Hosted student visiting from Japan as part of middle school cultural exchange program
Chaperoned middle school trip to Japan, ski trips, Camp Minikani, Homestead band trips
Started Homestead parent-principal-staff coffees
Created Homestead Leave A Legacy
Co-chaired Many Hands fundraising event which donated $96,100 to MTSD as an unrestricted gift
Served on several district community task forces
