Public Schools Week 2023: February 27 - March 3
As a strong public school advocate, I have had the honor of being elected by the community to serve on our Mequon Thiensville School District (MTSD) Board of Education (BOE) for 9 years.
I am running for re-election with decades of volunteerism in MTSD as PTO Co-President, chair of multiple committees and events and on task forces as well as for the Mequon Thiensville Education Foundation chairing committees and volunteering at their fundraising events which support MTSD.
As a Board member, I helped to create the MTSD mission, vision, strategic plans (most recently for 2021-2024), approved our 10 Year Long Range Master Plan, Legislative Platform, Academic Recovery Plan, Employee Health Clinic and 2 School Resource Officer positions. I have working knowledge of MTSD and am proud of the Board’s strong fiscal oversight of the District budget ensuring MTSD is one of three out of 421 school districts in Wisconsin to have the highest Moody’s bond rating, AAA.
I partnered with our Superintendent to create Summer Academy, providing an engagement opportunity for all students.
As a 32 year resident, I am the proud parent of a MTSD K-12 graduate.
I believe in the well rounded education MTSD offers our students from offering the only orchestra program in Ozaukee County to every WIAA sanctioned sport in addition to club sports, 70 clubs and organizations at Homestead and Academic and Career Planning.
